Step 1: Clear out the room.
Fresh Carpet And Floor Care professionals will remove the furniture from the room including tables, bookshelves, TV stands, chairs, etc. This can be a laborious and time-consuming task. Fortunately, Fresh Carpet And Floor Care will do the heavy lifting for you.
Step 2: Vacuum and shampoo the carpet.
Once the furniture has been removed, the carpet will need to be thoroughly cleaned. Washing, shampooing, and drying take about one full day for effective cleaning. The carpet can be stretched after all of the moisture has been removed and the carpet has dried.
Step 3: Yank the carpet off of the tacks.
Once the damaged carpet has been peeled back, the carpet on the opposite side of the wall must remain tacked down. Tacks and tack strips are then pulled out of the pad by professionals. This fully exposes the underpad.
Step 4: Replace with new tack strips
The tack strips will then be replaced by Fresh Carpet And Floor Care professionals before the carpet is placed back in its original location.
Step 5: Use a power stretcher and knee kicker
Our carpet repair specialists at Fresh Carpet And Floor Care use the power stretcher as a secret weapon. The machine anchors the carpet against the wall. By pushing a lever into the carpet, the power stretcher smooths and compresses it along the wall. For a finishing touch, the knee kicker is used to smooth out the carpet.
Step 5: Trim excess carpet edges with a knife
A tack strip is first laid and then the carpet’s edges are pushed down and secured. The excess carpet is then removed by sliding a box-cutter along the edge to produce a smooth and even trim so that the carpet butts up against the wall seamlessly.
